Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about mayDDNS.
mayDDNS is a dynamic DNS service that lets you access your home network or server using a fixed hostname, even when your IP address changes. It automatically updates DNS records so your hostname always points to your current IP.
- Log in to your mayDDNS account
- Navigate to the Hostname section
- Click Add Hostname and choose a subdomain
- Enter your current IP address (or let us auto-detect it)
- Save your configuration
Configure your router's DDNS settings:
- DDNS Service: Custom / User-defined
- Server URL:
https://mayddns.com/nic/update - Username: Your hostname username
- Password: Your hostname password
- Hostname: Your full hostname (e.g.
example.mayddns.com)
- FREE: 5 hostnames, IPv4 only, basic support
- PRO: 50 hostnames, IPv4 & IPv6, email support
- PRO+: 300 hostnames, IPv4 & IPv6, priority support
- ULTIMATE: 20,000 hostnames, IPv4 & IPv6, priority support
- SELF-HOSTED: Full source code, unlimited, AnyDesk support
We recommend updating every 5–10 minutes. The service supports up to 5 update requests per minute per IP. Most routers and DDNS clients can be set to update automatically at regular intervals.
We provide subdomains under mayddns.com and other supported domains. Custom domain support is available on the Ultimate and Self-Hosted plans.
